In conjunction with the anniversary of the issuance of the Competent Jihad Fatwa, the Baghdad International Center holds an international scientific conference titled (The Competent Jihad Fatwa: Importance – Contents – Dimensions)

Coinciding with the anniversary of the issuance of the fatwa of the competent jihad launched by the supreme authority, Mr. Ali al-Sistani, which was a basic building block in the establishment of the Hashd.The Baghdad International Center, in cooperation with the Hashd holds An international scientific conference titled (Fatwa on Competent Jihad: Importance – Contents – Dimensions) At Al-Zawraa Hall in Al-Rashid Hotel in Baghdad, which lasted for 15-16 / June / 2023.

The conference began with a general opening session attended by a large number of security officials, politicians, Hashd leaders, various levels, cultural strata and academics.
The conference began with a reading of verses from the Holy Quran, after which Lieutenant General Abu Muntazer Al-Husseini read the speech of the Hashd Commission. Dr. on behalf of its president, Mr. Faleh Al-Fayyad, followed by Haj Hadi Al-Amiri with a speech in which he stressed the need to continue holding such conferences because of their importance in confronting terrorist and takfiri thought. After that, the head of the Baghdad International Center, Dr. Adnan Al-Shahmani, delivered the speech of the Baghdad Center, which opened the conference.
In the first session, the focus of which was (Fatwa of Competent Jihad and its Strategic Importance), chaired by Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Hamid, the researchers presented summaries of their research, whose titles focused on the discourse of moderation in the fatwa and the impact of the fatwa in perpetuating the security momentum of Iraq as well as the strategic role of the fatwa in the fight against terrorism and other addresses.
After a break that extended for a short time, the second session was held, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Ardawi, and its focus was (Fatwa of Competent Jihad Against Specific Terrorism), in which the researchers presented summaries bearing titles that focused on discussing the focus of the session, including the Fatwa of Competent Jihad and Reshaping the Deterrence Equation in Iraq, the efforts of Imami jurists in renouncing extremism, as well as the leading authority in confronting terrorism, and in conclusion This session concluded the work of the first day of the conference.
The work of the second day began with holding the first session chaired by Prof. Dr. Fayeq Hassan Jassim, whose focus was (the fatwa of the competent jihad and its internal and external dimensions). In it, summaries of the research were presented. One of its titles was the political and security developments in Iraq since 2014, and they discussed the economic and social effects of the fatwa. Competent Jihad, as well as the role of the Competent Jihad Fatwa in managing the security crisis in Iraq after 2014.
After a break that lasted about an hour, the second session of the second day was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Khamis Hizam Al-Badri, and its focus was (the fatwa of jihad and its role in building peace), in which I presented summaries of various researches, such as a search for the fatwa of competent jihad and its importance in making peace, as well as a summary of a research entitled the intellectual stimuli for the fatwa of competent jihad and a search for Islam’s position on terrorism.
After a short break, the third and final session was held, which was chaired by Prof. Dr. Amal Hindi al-Khazali, and its focus was (the popular crowd and the Iraqi national security), in which she presented research summaries under various titles, starting with a research titled Al-Hash. Iraqi women and the fatwa of the competent jihad and other research.
At the end of the conference, certificates of participation and commemorative shields were distributed to the participants.
